03.Toyota Supplier Study Tour, Exploring the Password of Lean Intelligent Manufacturing in Japan

Kato Productions - A Benchmark Case of Timeliness and Automation

Kato Manufacturing Co. is a third tier supplier of Toyota Motor Corporation, established in July 1960, with four factories mainly processing automotive interior products such as car ceilings and carpets. It is the main supplier of interior products for Toyota Cruisers.

Royal Shipbuilding Industry - Rapid Mold Change and Quality Assurance System within Processes

One of Toyota's core second tier suppliers and a benchmark factory for lean management in stamping and welding, known for lean management and efficient production. They have thoroughly implemented Toyota's lean philosophy of eliminating all waste, achieving an extremely low product defect rate. They produce 8 million products per month, of which only 3 are included as defective products, resulting in a product defect rate of less than 0.001 ‰.

Sasahara Gold Model - Providing high-precision molds for equipment manufacturers within the Toyota system

Sasahara Kinki Co., Ltd. is a multinational stamping die company headquartered in Japan, founded in 1968. The company mainly produces high-strength material stamping molds and aluminum alloy stamping molds, providing high-precision molds for equipment manufacturers within the Toyota system. The high precision and one-time processing qualification rate of its molds are in a leading position in the same industry.

AVEX Factory - Advancing Intelligent Manufacturing on Lean Basis

AVEX Duodu Factory is one of the enterprises that has applied TPS most deeply and flexibly, and it is also the place where TPS theory is perfectly implemented. In the AVEX Duodu factory, the equipment is all old machines from decades ago, but they can still operate normally, thanks to the flexible use of TPM by the AVEX Duodu factory. Continuous improvement is deeply integrated into the daily work of employees, and the results of daily improvements are displayed in a visual way. AVEX Duodu Factory also pays special attention to outliers and starts discussing them every morning from today's outliers. After more than 40 years of importing TPS, AVEX Duodu Factory has made improvements to TPS, such as changing 5S to 2S+cleaning here, greatly reducing the burden on employees.

Toyota Industrial Technology Memorial Hall - Showcasing Toyota's latest technologies in various fields

The location of the Toyota Industrial Technology Memorial Hall was originally an abandoned factory of Toyota Textile, which was the predecessor of Toyota Motor Corporation. The Toyota Industrial Technology Memorial Hall has three exhibition halls, namely the Weaving Machine Exhibition Hall, Die Casting Laboratory, and Automotive Exhibition Hall. The Weaving Machine Exhibition Hall records the development history of Toyota's weaving machines, and dozens of devices in the hall present the real and intuitive history of Toyota. In addition to showcasing the development history of various important components of automobiles, the car exhibition hall also displays representative models of Toyota from different periods. Here, you can understand the basic principles of automated production, just in time production, and Toyota hybrid production.
