Founded in 1868, IWC has a history of 150 years of watchmaking. IWC was founded by Boston engineer Florentine A. Jones, who founded the earliest mechanical watchmaking factory in Switzerland in the factory on the Rhine River, and realized his novel idea-replacing some of the manual parts with machinery to produce more accurate parts, and then assembled into exceptional quality watches by excellent watchmakers. Since 1868, every watch produced by IWC has been registered in the watch factory log book, and for more than 100 years, these log books have been integrated into several large volumes, which are the only record books in the world.
